New Requirements for 2007 AAOA Fellow Exam Released

The AAOA Fellow Exam Committee, under the CME Committee, has updated the Fellow Exam application requirements. These changes are effective for the 2007 Exam.

Requirements for Eligibilty

• ABOto certfication
• AAOA active member for a minimum of 1 year
• Attended 1 complete Basic Course (prior to April 1 exam application deadline)
• Attended 1 complete Advanced Course (prior to April 1 exam application deadline)
• 40 additional AAOA-sponsored CME hours
• All CME accumulated within 5 years
• All CME completed prior to the Exam
• 3 case write-ups involving patients personally managed, 2 immunotherapy and 1 food allergy
• 7 additional immunotherapy patients that have been personally treated for at least 6 months
• $750 application fee and complete application: Deadline April 1st
• Burden of proof of eligibility is the applicants responsibility (AAOA charges $35/CME event to verify course attendance)
• Candidates assume responsibility of validating accuracy of all applications requirement. If the AAOA finds that any information was falsified, the AAOA reserve the right to withdraw membership status.
